Oda Mauson: That still qualifies as rental history, although it's not as strong as if you had a lease. You'd still put that down in your application if asked. It would be good to ask the person you're currently renting the room from to be your reference when you move out.Don't worry, everyone has to start somewhere :)

Maritza Ebanks: When you apply for an apartment, the application will ask for your previous address and landlord's info. You'll simply put the name of the person you're renting from in the landlord information box. The prospective landlord will then call your current landlord and ask if you've been a good tenant. It's no different than if you were renting from an apartment complex.As long as you were a good tenant in your current situation you should be fine.
