Should I continue being home schooled or should I go to High school?

Dick Baumgarten: I wouldn't want to go to high school. There is so much drugs and drama and sex and violence. You can't focus on learning if your woried about those things

Robin Tommie: High school is one of the most enjoyable experiences in anyone's life. It isn't all about drugs and sex. You just to surround yourself with good people, and know that you aren't that kind of person. I would suggest going to high school. It offers a better education, gives you work ethics, and a chance to be with poeple you can be life-long friends with. And if you plan on attending a good college, you would have a better chance by going to an official school rather than taking classes online. If you do decide to go back to school, be prepared. If it becomes too tiring or too hard stick with it. It's just a phase that most high schoolers go through. It is a very enriching experience. Think about when you would be a senior. Homecoming. Prom. Graduation?Wish you good luck :]...Show more

Rachal Osaki: Your school lied. If you go into homeschooling you do not have to repeat ANY years. As long as you are able to pass the tests for your year with acceptable scores, they MUST pass you. Also, I would recommend an accredited virtual school. You can take classes online and earn your credits. Your school just doesn't want you to leave because it makes them look bad to have students withdraw. They can't stop you from homeschooling and you should not have to fight to go into homeschooling. At least that's how it is in Florida. I'm not sure about Connecticut, but I believe in all of the states we have something called human rights??...Show more

Norris Rosener: Continue getting homeschooled! You honestly have no freaking clue how lucky you are! I was homeschooled in eighth grade & it was wayyy better than public high school. It's horrible. All it is is drugs. And having sex in the bathrooms. Honestly. Oh, and the fights all day. And I go to a really reputab! le school. But can't forget that teachers nowadays don't care ! about your education (honestly). They just hand out the work & if you ask what to do, they say, "It's in the book". Sometimes it doesn't even make sense. Please, please, PLEASE keep doing homeschooling. You'll regret it if you go to public school....Show more

Renay Billiar: Do you enjoy staying home and doing school work? If you don't, go to public school, if you do, stay at home. Don't let people think you are missing out on stuff if you don't go to public school. You can take all the electives you want, and have all the friends you want and still be home schooled. You can get a more well rounded education if you do it at home because you don't have to sit in class for an hour everyday if you can learn the material in less time. You can also get into drama or band if you join a home school association. So, think to yourself, do i like this way of school or do i want to go to traditional public school?...Show more

Maye Delk: I went to both school and home school! . I'm currently home schooled online ( in high school). I find it way better then attending everyday. You a re doing the same work but less and get better grades this way. For me at least it has been better being home schooled. Ultimately you have to be the one to make this decision. For me it would be hard to go back to my old habits of doing work.. I'm used to being more laid back. It would seem really hard to catch up. If you are a very social person, like being around people, have no problem doing work on time, and have no issues with school, you should go back. If you like a more relaxed schedule, doing things at your own pace, do not mind lacking social involvement, stick to home school. I also found it quite hard to concentrate in school because of the drama so I'm sticking to home school for the rest of my 3 years. I also agree with the person above, people do steal, and there is WAY to much wrong with how schools are run. Its better to stay away from that stuff as ! much as you can.PS: Home schooled people do not spend every minute with! their parents! Especially in online school. My mom does not even help me. Plus you have way more independence in home school. We get to do what we want all day, regular school have fun being locked in a building all day for 8 hours.Hope you make the right decision. Good Luck....Show more

Kim Gerbino: This is a big choice to make at this time.It is often awkward to get a public school to accept your high school-level homeschool work. Some find themselves back in 9th grade no matter how much they've achieved. Others are allowed in, placed according to age, but then are not allowed to attend graduation ceremonies for not having enough "certified" credits. So if you chose to homeschool, figure you are going to do it until you are ready for college... which may not be that far away! Many homeschooled teens decide at around 15 or 16 to start taking classes as a dual enrolled student at a nearby community college. Our homeschooled son tried taking two classes at our local hig! h school, as they allowed that. He had no problem with his classes, and his teachers loved his enthusiasm... but his fellow students did not! We were alarmed when he told us stories of cops racing through the center courtyard in cars and motorcycles, nearly running over students, in order to stop a fight that wasn't really going to do as much harm as the police "race" to get there.Homeschooled teen groups can have all the fun any teens can dream up. They can have sports teams and proms. Together they can hire tutors in esoteric subject areas. Here's what the teens are going to be doing this weekend at the homeschool conference in Sacramento. Keep in mind that teens totally organize this part of the homeschool conference.http://www.hscconference.com/teen.htmlThis is a state-wide conference, so many of the teens will take their favorite activities back to their local support groups to introduce them to this fun, too. Will you get into the college you most want to go to? Most li! kely yes. Colleges love to get homeschool transcripts that show that a ! teen has a really great background already in a field that is taught at their campus. If you spend the next four years as an aid to your local vet, do you think that a veterinarian university is going to turn you away? No way!Ann ZeiseA to Z Home's Coolhttp://homeschooling.gomilpitas.comStart a blog on...http://a2zhomeschool.com...Show more

Lilli Kochel: Personally no, home schooling at times can feel like you have no space because you are always with your mom but believe me that's going to come in handy. High school now-a-days are not about education, their about what boy you can get with, and adult stuff. You high school days are suppose to be fun but fun like (games, friends parties, etc.) not (babies, getting rapped, having accessories stolen from your book bag)You can do the same or more being home schooled plus you have more time on your hands. You can do a lot more things, read books, play games, go to sports, visit friends, go to the mall, play with your pet an! d get to be with him/her all day. :) Good luck ...Show more

Anton Waln: Go to high school. It is so much fun. You'll get to enjoy more independence, proms, senior skip days, homecomings, etc. You'll meet a ton of new people. You'll have a huge variety of classes to choose from. High school years are supposed to be the best years of your life-don't spend them with your mom!
